4 Fashion Keepers from Last Season

So of course Springtime cleaning means transitioning your A/W wardrobe into Spring and Summer and sometimes that whole process can turn into a mess and make you go cray cray.

The smart thing about this year’s fashion is that it incorporates staple pieces from last season so there’s no need for you to splurge right away into the new season’s must-haves.

This season is all about remixing Autumn/Winter 2011’s bests and adapting them to Spring/Summer 2012’s fashion and weather.

Here are 4 Fashion Keepers that can work with your new wardrobe…

THE WIDE LEG PANT

This piece will work again for this season, with patterns, various arrays of colors and lighter fabric it definitely is a season must- have. Don’t be afraid to wear last season’s wide leg pant. They might be darker and in heavier fabrics, just pair them with light flowy pastel colored tops and you’re good to go.

THE TUXEDO JACKET

Definitely a staple piece, it is in every wardrobe. It’s a perfect eveningwear piece and completes a look perfectly as a dinner jacket on chilly nights. The remixed version of the tuxedo jacket will be worn in creamy colors which are perfect for spring.

Gucci Marola : Love It or Leave It !

I think most of my fellow fashionistas will agree with the following statement:

Crocs are extremely ugly and pretty useless.

Now we’re not going to start that “but what about wellies & uggs?” debate cause there’s no need to. I mean, unlike the UGGS that won’t do any good to your feet except keeping them warm while you’re busy waiting for the bus in the freezing cold, and unlike the childhood-reminiscing WELLIES, that’ll keep them dry while you’re walking through the concrete jungle, we can all agree on the fact that Crocs are totally pointless. Not only do you look like a damn fool while wearing the rubber pink, lime green, electric blue or what have you clogs but they won’t keep you warm, nor will they keep you dry. See…told you POINTLESS!

But apparently Gucci didn’t get the memo…so they came up with these…I guess ‘Recession-friendly/Brand-whore friendly’ rubber sandals called Gucci Marola.

I have to admit that when it comes to bags, shoes and accessories I’ve never been a Gucci girl (but I love their stunning dresses though), and that new invention is definitely not gonna help.

J’ose avancer que bon nombre de mes compatriotes fashionistas seront d’accord avec la déclaration suivante : Les Crocs, c’est moche et ça ne sert à rien.

N’entamons pas de débats stériles du style : « Bah…Les UGGS et les Wellingtons alors ? », la discussion tournerait court de toute façon. Je veux dire, niveau utilité les UGGS tiennent chaud aux pieds et permettent de ne pas se les geler en attendant le bus et les WELLINGTONS, qui rappellent l’enfance, (à moins que ce soit Dora l’Exploratrice), gardent ces mêmes pieds au sec lors de nos traversées dans la jungle urbaine. Donc on est bien d’accord les Crocs sont d’une inutilité déconcertante. Non seulement on à l’air terriblement bête avec des sabots roses, vert pomme, bleu électrique aux pieds, mais en plus ils ne sont ni waterproof, ni froid-proof…vous voyez : I-NU-TILES !!!

 

Mais apparemment chez Gucci ils n’ont pas capté cela, et ont crée leur version spécialement pour les fans voulant s’offrir du siglé à relativement petit prix. Histoire sans doute de rendre les sandales en caoutchouc plus sexy, on leur a donné le doux nom exotique de Gucci Marola.

Je dois avouer que je ne suis pas la plus grande fan de la marque, et cette dernière invention ne contribuera sans doute pas à ce que je l’apprécie plus.
