Mani Monday - "HUNT ME DOWN"
As a self proclaimed nail polish addict, and collector I thought it'd be fun to posts small articles about my manicures, the nail polishes I love and why I love them.
I tend to switch colors every 2 to 3 days or so but I want you guys to keep up and post pics of my manis every monday. Not to brag or anything (but then again WHO brags about nail polish???), but to share my love with you and maybe instill a passion and make some of my most conservative readers try new colors and give ideas.
This week's #ManiMonday is "HUNT ME DOWN" by H&M...
It's a light army green that matches most of my outfits (and yours too I'm pretty sure...). I like it because while it definitely is an edgier color than the regular more 'traditional' manicure colors, it is kinda classy and and believe it or not discreet.
As the French would say: "L'essayer c'est l'adopter".

4 Fashion Keepers from Last Season
So of course Springtime
cleaning means transitioning your A/W wardrobe into Spring and Summer and
sometimes that whole process can turn into a mess and make you go cray cray.
The smart thing about this
year’s fashion is that it incorporates staple pieces from last season so there’s
no need for you to splurge right away into the new season’s must-haves.
This season is all about
remixing Autumn/Winter 2011’s bests and adapting them to Spring/Summer 2012’s
fashion and weather.
Here are 4 Fashion Keepers
that can work with your new wardrobe…
THE WIDE LEG PANT
This piece will work again
for this season, with patterns, various arrays of colors and lighter fabric it definitely
is a season must- have. Don’t be afraid to wear last season’s wide leg pant.
They might be darker and in heavier fabrics, just pair them with light flowy
pastel colored tops and you’re good to go.
THE TUXEDO JACKET
Definitely a staple piece,
it is in every wardrobe. It’s a perfect eveningwear piece and completes a look
perfectly as a dinner jacket on chilly nights. The remixed version of the
tuxedo jacket will be worn in creamy colors which are perfect for spring.
THE HIGH SLIT DRESS
Forget about that “Look-at-my-skinny-leg”
moment that Angelina had at the Oscars. Though it looks super dressy in the
daytime if you wear that high slit dress with a white tank top it will look
effortlessly ‘casual chic’.
THE PETER PAN COLLAR
From that
classic strictness white Louis Vuitton version to the fresh candy and pastel
colors of other runways, the peter pan collar adds a little schoolgirl or
royalty to your look plus it’s one of those ‘universal’ trends because it fits
everyone whatever the size or age.

Springtime Cleaning.
Yes, that time of the year again. The time when those that vowed to stick to a workout routine can't seem to find their way back to the gym, the time when we're cleaning cupboards and drawers, organizing wardrobes and shoe racks,...The time when we try new diets, experiment new hairstyles and switch our beauty regimen.
A time for questioning old habits, exploring new options...Out with the old, in with the new.
It's time for springtime cleaning at home, in your body and mind.
During my springtime cleaning last month, I've come to the realization that my procrastination with this blog might come from a desire of overachieving. And I've put so much pressure on me with that blog that by fearing to fail I just stopped blogging altogether.
Blogging in two languages has become so tough that it took the fun out of it...
Long story short..Frenesie Fashionesque is now officially in English.I chose English over French for obvious reasons but it doesn't mean that I neglect nor do I underappreciate my French speaking readers.
Hopefully you'll understand my choice, which will help me give you, my dear readers, more content then I did in the past.
Wish me luck on that new journey and please keep reading.

Current Obsession : Red Handbags
I don’t know if it comes from rearranging my closet lately but I’ve been craving a little splash of red here and there. In the form of a handbag to be more precise. There it is…that fashionesque frenzy again…I want a red handbag. I NEED a red handbag in my life. I think it will come in handy when winter comes and my wardrobe palette will range from dark grays to pitch blacks. I like that a simple red handbag can upgrade a look and freshen up a dull silhouette. Okay so… now we know I want a red handbag. But then, what about the style & shape of it? Should it be a clutch, a shoulder bag , a hobo or a tote…?

Stycons: Olivia Palermo

This month's Stycon (or style icon) is Olivia Palermo.
Also known as the MTV's The City villain, she is one of New York's socialite. And a very stylish one!
What I love about Olivia is that she mixes and matches and accessorizes to the perfection (yes a goodlooking boyfriend counts as an accessory)!
Whether she's strolling around the Meat Packing District streets, attending a charity event, store opening, brand launching, working at Elle Magazine, or what have you she's got what I like to call a 'perfectly-put-together-look', it looks easy on her but it would look overworked on anyone of us.
Just see for yourself...

Have a Fashionesque Frenzy Year!
It is THAT time of the year, when you wanna start fresh, try new stuff, get rid of bad habits and extra pounds. It's that time of the year where you take resolutions and tell your entourage what 'you're about to try to change in your life', just because a new year started and,...well, everybody does that.Right?
I'm not one to take resolutions, I don't believe in them, cause I feel like they're not secure enough. I mean, there's a feeling of "if I can't do it at least I tried" in resolutions that I hate, so what's the point in 'TRYING' when you should just as a famous sportswear brand says 'JUST DO IT'.
So every year, I set goals, for goals have a sense of OBLIGATION. They're what you're supposed to have done by a certain date. Period. There's no 'I'll try' in GOALS, only 'I must'. And I like a challenge.
I'm not gonna go all personal diary on you and give you my personal goals for this year, (yeah...I'm private like that). But I can give you my fashionesque resolutions without any problem, for they're fun and might inspire some of you to do the same. I'll make sure to take you along with me on that fashionesque journey throughout my reporting it through posts, pictures etc...Which actually perfectly introduces the 1st Fashionesque Goal:
#1- Blog more often.
[This blogging perfectionnism has to stop. I should just be spontaneous & fun like I used to be.]
#2 - Organize my closet.
[Right now winter is flirting with summer outfits and it takes forever to find stuff in that fashion jambalaya.]
#3 - Find my signature style.
[Funny enough, I shop & style other people but my style fluctuate just like my weight.]
Which brings me to the next goal...
#4 - Make peace with my body image and treating it better.
[I either feel to big or too skinny, I just turned 28 it's about time I move to 'balanced & happy body image']
#5 - Educate myself more about Fashion.
[You just never learn enough about fashion, and I love how it's a self-taught art.]
______________
5)Augmenter mes savoirs fashionesques.

Stycons : June Ambrose
In the fashion industry, some people inspire us, some put us off, but I’m not one to hate someone’s attempt at being stylish, because if Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, same goes with Fashion and Style.
I thought every once in a while I’d share with you my favourite style icons, or ‘stycons’ as I like to call them, because they’re an important source of inspiration and some are even role models and fashionesque godmothers.
This month’s stycon is JUNE AMBROSE.
For those of you that don’t know June Ambrose, she is a costume designer and personal wardrobe stylist to Jay-Z, Chrisette Michelle, Rihanna (pre-Umbrella era), Mary J. Blige, Busta Rhymes, Mariah Carey, Kim Cattrall, Kelly Ripa, Jazmine Sullivan amongst many others. She’s also Creative Director (or Style Architect as Jay-Z dubbed her) of Rocawear, just as she was for Missy Elliott’s Adidas Collection for 4 consecutive seasons.
As if it wasn’t enough, she actually wrote a book “Effortless Style” in 2006, and has been taking part in multiple TV shows where she was a consultant and gave precious styling tips.

June Ambrose also gives very interesting styling tips on her hilarious YouTube channel where she takes us with her on her fashionesque journeys (from Target to high end Department Stores). They’re a MUST WATCH.

I think that June Ambrose has definitely left her mark on the Hip Hop industry, bringing high fashion to a genre mostly known for low – budget, street looks.

She has a unique sense of personal style, an infectious personality and a creative eye that enables her to create amazing looks.
June Ambrose, the Opulent, Decadent, Distinguished Style Architect. ( In her own words & I couldn’t agree more)
_____________
